Cho Dan Requirements
The following are required to obtain your Cho Dan; the midnight blue belt
As a 1st Gup, it is your responsibility to discuss your intention to test to Cho Dan with your instructor. This should only happen once you have fulfilled your expectations as a Red Belt and are confident that you understand your Cho Dan requirements. Dan Shim Sa are conducted at a Regional level and are held twice a year. These events are coordinated by the Regional Examiner, with all candidates in the Region testing at the same time.
You must begin your preparations for Cho Dan at least six months prior to the Shim Sa. Your testing to Cho Dan will include multiple assessments in the build up to the Shim Sa, including the 10-hour Dan Assessment Day. During the Dan Assessment Day you will be required to demonstrate all skills and techniques you have learned during your training, therefore you need to have a good understanding of your testing requirements and all lower level techniques.
